The Brattleboro Retreat, the Anna Marsh Clinic and the other programs of the Brattleboro Retreat contract with more than 100 national and regional insurance companies, and are able to accept most commercial and managed care payers, as well as Medicare, and some Medicaid programs. Brattleboro Retreat staff members collaborate with patients and families to manage insurance and reauthorization requirements, and to arrange reasonable self-payment plans, if necessary.

The State of Vermont offers several options to help Vermont residents get health insurance coverage. These include Medicaid, Dr. Dynasaur, VHAP, Catamount Health and VHAP - Pharmacy. Together, these programs are called Green Mountain Care. Each program has different eligibility, but Vermonters with incomes up to 300% of the federal poverty level can qualify.
