Bette Abrams

Bette Abrams has served on the Retreat Board since 2009. She is currently Secretary of the Board and is Chair of the Development, Quality and Performance Improvement and Governance Committees, as well as a member of the Executive Committee. Bette served as Chair of the Retreat’s 175th Anniversary Celebration held on September 12, 2009 and the Lawton Hall 100th Anniversary Gala on September 15, 2012.

A resident of the Brattleboro area since 1978, Bette’s professional background includes Development Coordinator for the Early Childhood Council of Windham County (now Building Bright Futures of Southeastern Vermont), Realtor for Berkley & Veller Real Estate, and special educator in the Wilmington and Brattleboro school systems.

Bette is a past member and Secretary of the Windham Child Care Association Board of Directors, a former United Way Citizens Review Team volunteer and past President of Hilltop Montessori School Board of Directors, a position she held for 12 years.  Bette is currently a Corporator of the Southern Vermont Health Services Corporation.
