Sharon Chaput, RN, CSHA, joined the Brattleboro Retreat in April 2008. She has more than 20 years experience as an RN and throughout her career has served in various positions including nurse manager, program director, executive director, and most recently as the Director of Regulatory and Accreditation Compliance for Providence Behavioral Health Hospital in Holyoke, MA.
Sharon is considered to be a national expert in healthcare accreditation. She served on the advisory board for Hcpro and assisted in developing the national Certification for Accreditation Health Professionals (CSHA) examination. She has also spoken at national accreditation professionals conferences on Suicide Risk Assessment and has provided consultative services for hospitals on Joint Commission survey readiness.
In 2011 Ms. Chaput co-authored the book Assessing the Risk: Suicidal Behavior in the Hospital Environment of Care.
