Help for mental health and addictive disorders is available for you, right here on our private, southern Vermont campus. If you’re suffering from problems with depression, addiction to alcohol or other drugs, bipolar disorder, or difficulties related to anxiety, PTSD, or a co-occurring dual diagnosis disorder, then come to the Brattleboro Retreat.

Our highly-trained staff has the expertise and compassion to help you make a strong and successful recovery. Here, you’ll find exceptional inpatient mental health and addiction care along with partial hospital programs, intensive outpatient treatment, residential care for children and adolescents, and innovative outpatient counseling services.

The Brattleboro Retreat provides specialized diagnosis and treatment services for children, adolescents and adults suffering from a wide range of psychiatric and addiction challenges. The Ripley Building on the eastern side of the Retreat offers on-campus housing opportunities to patients attending the Starting Now intensive outpatient addiction treatment program and The Birches Treatment Center (partial hospital program).
All visitors and patients being admitted to the Brattleboro Retreat check in at our Central Intake, where they find information, support and directions to their ultimate destination, all in one place.
Located on the first floor of the Osgood Building, the Brattleboro Retreat’s Child Inpatient Program for children ages 4 to 14 features newly remodeled spaces including safe, private rooms for each young patient.
On the southern edge of the campus, Lawton Hall, with its historic clock tower, provides a beautiful setting for the hospital's Mulberry Bush Early Learning Center.
